The year was 1994 — while shaping boards in my shed on the west coast, I started offering ding repair services to a local surf shop. Word spread fast among surfers at my local break. I built a reputation for quality work and quick turnaround, and the demand kept growing.

After 7 years as head shaper for Hot Buttered Surfboards in Auckland — shaping customs and team rider boards — and working with iconic brands including Hawaiian Island Creations under master craftsman Eric Arakawa, I know exactly how every part of a board is constructed, from blank to glass. That knowledge directly translates into repairs done right.

Repairs Done Right, In-House

In 2007 I moved into Ultimate Surf and Skate on Auckland's North Shore, handling custom shapes, stock boards, and ding repairs all in-house. Working across all aspects of board production and repair in a high-volume shop sharpened every technique I have.
